During the three decades of entrepreneurship, I have overcome challenges and fulfilled my dream step by step. I will continue to chase my dream and expand my business territory, as long as there is just a drop of adventure in my blood.
For SKYWORTH, 5G+8K technology will be our growth engine in the next 10 years. A Steadfast Color TV Dream Began with a Football Match Broadcast
Mr. Stephen Wong (Huang Hongsheng) embarked on an unwavering destiny with TVs, after being inspired by a mass campus TV screening of a football match and writing a dissertation on black-and-white TV design during his university years. Before graduating from university, he swore to establish a successful company like Sony and Panasonic.
Sustaining Passion with Pure Determination and Perseverance
From dealing with the import and export of electronic products, to working in the TV remote control production segment and finally entering the broader electronics manufacturing industry, Mr. Wong put his life savings on the line and experienced many ups and downs throughout his entrepreneurial journey. However, with a fervent enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and belief in the mantra of “don’t wait for the right opportunity; create it,” he took a leap of faith into a TV industry that was still lacking high-tech resources at the time.
Establishing SKYWORTH in 1988
Along with China’s economic reform and development of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone in the 1980s, Mr. Wong launched SKYWORTH and grew the business. Since then, the company has transformed into a pioneer in big-screen AIoT, leading the development of the TV industry in China.
Pondering the Development Journey
As Nelson Mandela once said: “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” With this determined mindset, Mr. Wong considered how he could uphold the Shenzhen spirit of “dare to venture, dare to try, dare to be the first in the world,” and lead SKYWORTH on an extraordinary business and innovation journey, overcoming challenges ahead. Most importantly, he contemplated how SKYWORTH could fulfill people’s demands for greater quality of life.

Committed to pursuing high-quality standards, Mr. Wong persevered and led SKYWORTH to stand out for its innovations. Throughout his career, Mr. Wong has seen the evolution from LCD to OLED TVs, from 4K to 8K TVs, and will eventually see the jump from isolated data islands to interconnectivity of all home appliances via AIoT (Artificial Intelligence-enabled Internet of Things).
